Short Story Contest!
All right everyone who’s ready for a challenge?
The challenge is, you can write a short story and submit it to me on the 'Submit Your Story' gadget on the side of my blog. I will read your short story and announce the top three winners the week of June first.
From now until the first of June you can submit a short story to me.
Rules and guidelines
- Must have these three things, summer, mystery, and excitement.
- Submit your story from now until June 1st
- Submit your story by the "Submit Your Story" gadget on the side of my blog
- Must be in between 2 and 6 chapters
- I will announce the top three winners the week of June 1st
- At the end of the contest I post your all of your stories the week of June 1st (If it's okay with you)
- You don’t have to share any personal information. If you don’t want to share your email address you can post your story on your blog(if you have one) Or you can submit it through the comments.

Sounds fun! I'm interested. :D I feel like I need a few more details, though, like: how many people do you need to get this contest to run smoothly? Will there be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places? Do you have prizes (are mailing addresses involved)? Is there a word count needed for each story?

Hello Ellen! That's great! I would like to have 3+ people to submit stories. Yes if there are 3 or more people who enter there will be 1st 2nd 3rd places. No there won't be prizes :( I will just post the names of the winners and their blog if they have one. I am trying to make sure everyone who wants to enter can, and in my opinion it's not very safe to share your address online. There is not a word count, but it must be in between 2 and 6 chapters. I updated some of the rules. Does this help at all?

DeleteHello Annika! Sounds really fun! I have one question. Can you submit the first chapters of a bigger book you are writing? or do you have to do a short story and make an ending? I think I will enter the contest... but sometimes I start writing stories... but I like never finish some of them. So we will see!

I have an update on the contest, the contact form wasn't working so you will either have to post it on your blog and say it's for my contest, submit it through the comments, or send your story to Izzy who will forward it to me. To do that you will send your story on Izzy's contact form and ask her to send it to me. Her blog is stayinthesunshine.blogspot.com

If we publish our stories to your blog will you be publishing the comment? Or not? Because if you don't want it to post you might want to moderate the comments.

Delete1. Comment your story on my blog if you don't mind other people looking at them.
2. Post your story on your blog and say it's for my contest then comment on my blog and say you posted your story.
3. Turn your story in on Izzy's blog through the contact form and ask her to send it to me. Here is an example for If you do option 3,
Hi! This is my story for Annika's story contest. Can you please send this to Annika?
Once there was a girl who loved to run.

Annika, my story is longer than 6 chapters..... Can I still enter it? Or shall I just enter the first 6 chapters? ~Caitlyn

DeleteSadly I will not be entering- my eye got 'injured' and is just no healing. Plus I am working on a special project. Good luck!

DeleteMy baby sister scratched my eye ball. I went to the eye doctor 2 days later and he said the baby scratched my pupil. It is all better now though. <3
